Your noise measurement instruments are a valuable investment and so maintaining the accuracy and performance of your equipment is vital.
Our fixed-price calibration policy gives you a cost-effective way to ensure that you are compliant at all times and that your equipment is kept in peak condition.
Regardless of how often you use your instruments, regular verification by a calibration laboratory is important, as the original manufacturer of your instruments only Cirrus can provide you with the care and attention that you should expect.
In addition to providing for the service and calibration of our own equipment, we can offer both Traceable and UKAS calibration services for a wide range of equipment from manufacturers other than Cirrus. Let us know what you've got and we'll give you a quotation for calibration.
If you are using your noise measurement instruments to meet any Standards, Regulations or Guidelines, it is essential that your equipment is measuring accurately. Most modern standards, regulations of guidelines will clearly state the standards to which the equipment must comply.
For example, the 2005 Control of Noise At Work Regulations states "Your sound level meter should meet at least Class 2 of BS EN 61672-1:2003 (the current instrumentation standard for sound level meters)..", "Your dosemeter should meet the requirements of BS EN 61252:1997 Dosemeters have no type or class number." and "Your calibrator should meet at least Class 2 of BS EN 60942:2003".
and similarly, BS 4142:2014 states: "Select systems for measuring sound pressure levels, including microphone(s), cable(s), windscreen(s), recording devices and other accessories which conform to BS EN 61672-1, Class 1, for free-field application, as appropriate. Filters, where used, should conform to BS EN 61260, Class 1, and sound calibrators to BS EN 60942, Class 1."
If you are going to continue to use your noise measurement instruments over a long period, it is vital that they continue to meet these same standards and this is why calibration, both Field Calibration and Periodic Verification, are an essential part of undertaking noise measurements.
For the calibration of our standard products, we provide a standard 3-working day turnaround.
This allows you to get your equipment back to you as soon as possible, minimising the time that you are without your instrumentation.
If you do need to have equipment for this period, we can offer a range of instruments for rental so please get in touch and let us know what you need.
If your equipment is damaged or needs repairs, this may take a little longer but we'll endeavour to get the work carried out as soon as possible.
If your Cirrus noise measurement equipment needs to be repaired, we offer a fixed price service which will cover putting your instrument back into full working order.
As part of this service, we will also recalibrate your instrument unless you request otherwise.
As part of this service, we include the replacement of damaged displays.
If your instrument is covered by our 15-Year Warranty, we will also include the replacement of damaged microphone capsules.
If your equipment has fallen out of warranty, we offer attractive microphone replacement offers and the option of buying back into the warranty scheme.
Cirrus offers new products with a two-year return to base guarantee against all faults.
This warranty is extendable, one year at a time, up to a maximum of fifteen years, if the products are calibrated annually with Cirrus Research plc or a Cirrus Calibration Centre.
In short, if your instrument is calibrated annually with Cirrus, then you can enjoy peace of mind for up to 15 years, through our industry leading "no quibble" warranty policy.
It's not unusual for a noise measurement instrument to be used frequently and often in harsh environments.
It's inevitable that there will some wear and tear on the instrument, particularly on the case and keypads.
As part of our standard service, we will update the internal software in your equipment where a newer version exists, replace damaged keypads, missing battery covers and microphone grills.
Your equipment will be returned to you in the best possible condition so that it continues to give you data that you can rely upon for years to come.
We sell our equipment around the world and we recognise that for some of our customers, it's not possible or practicable to send equipment back to our head office in the UK.
To support our overseas customers, we have a network of Authorised Service Centres that can offer.
These Authorised Service Centres have exclusive access to our test equipment, systems and software and can offer you a range of calibration and repair services to meet your needs.
Regardless of the make of noise measurement equipment that you have, we can provide you with a comprehensive quotation to cover all of your equipment.
If you have a range of different instruments from different manufacturers, that's not a problem. Whether it's just a single acoustic calibrator through to a range of different types of sound level meters, we can offer you either traceable calibration or UKAS-Accredited verification.
Just let us know the makes and models of your equipment and we'll provide a detailed quotation.
If it's easier to have your equipment collected from your premises, we can arrange this for you for a small, additional cost.
Our calibration team will liaise with you to organise the collection when it's convenient for you. All you need to do is have the equipment boxed up and ready for collection.
We'll send you all of the details and a shipping label to attach to box so that it gets to us as quickly as possible.
If you require a UKAS-Accredited verification to either IEC 61672-3 or BS 7580, we can offer this service for your equipment.
This is available for both Cirrus and non-Cirrus manufactured equipment and we will be pleased to provide you with a clear, straight forward quote that covers everything you will need.

We want to make the process of having your equipment calibrated as quick and straight forward as possible.
The first step is to let us know what you need calibrating. You can either do this by phone by calling us on 0845 230 2434 or by using the form below.
Once we've confirmed what you need and you're happy to go ahead, we'll allocate your calibration a unique number (something like CAL 12345) that you can refer to if you need to discuss any part of the process. We'll also use this on any communication with you.
Your equipment can now come back to us.
You can download a goods return label using this link which you can attach to your equipment. If you've arranged for the equipment to be collected from you, we will arrange this and send you the details so that you can have everything ready.
One thing that we would ask is that you let us know where the equipment needs to be shipped back to. You may be working in a different office from the one that we have on record so it's always good to know where you need the equipment delivered back to.
Once the equipment arrives back at Cirrus, we'll let you know and that's all you need to do.
We'll handle the rest and get your equipment through our calibration department and back to you as quickly as possible.
