The NoiseTools software package gives you a quick and simple way to download, analyse and report the noise measurement information recorded by an optimus sound level meter.
For many users, the most challenging part of a noise survey is the reporting and analysis of the results and so having a simple way to view, analyse and print the information is essential.
NoiseTools gives you a range of tools to report and analyse your noise data quickly and easily.
Intuitive and simple to use
The initial summary screen shows you the most commonly used information and, through simple icons, gives you access to the detailed measurement data.
You can simply print the summary screen to get a quick measurement report.
For advanced users, each and every function measured by the instrument is available for review and analysis and the data can be exported for further use.
License free and future proof
As with all Cirrus sound level meter and doseBadge software, NoiseTools is supplied free from any licensing restrictions and can be installed on as many PC's as is needed.
Updates and upgrades can be downloaded free of charge from the Cirrus website NoiseTools can automatically download and installed updates when they become available.
To ensure that you can run NoiseTools now and in the future, it is compatible with the latest Microsoft Windows Operating Systems including Windows 7, 8 & 10 (both 32bit and 64bit versions).
Quick & simple measurement reporting
Measurement reports can be quickly and easily created from any screen and from any data set. A range of preset measurement reports are available and these can be enhanced with information about the measurement including photographs.
View detailed measurement information
Both the Optimus sound level meters and the doseBadge noise dosimeters store detailed information in the form of time history or noise profile data.
Depending upon the type of instrument, this information can be stored for as many as 12 simultaneous channels and at a data rate of 1/16second (10ms for Optimus Yellow, Red & Green broadband data).
All of this data can be viewed quickly and easily on the Time History view along with any manually applied markers and a range of markers that are automatically stored by the instrument.
All of this detailed information, along with the overall measurement information, can be viewed and exported for further analysis.
Mark, annotate & highlight measurement data
Markers can be added manually to highlight sections of the measurement that are of interest and these markers can be included in measurement reports
The data marked can be excluded from the overall data and can also be used within the periodic calculator to provide additional analysis functions.
The instrument used to make the measurement may have automatically applied markers to the measurement data. For example, the Optimus Green sound level meters will mark the time history data when the auto recording capability is active.
Listen to VoiceTags & audio recordings
VoiceTag audio recordings can be played back for reference and are automatically stored with the measurement data, and audio recordings can be replayed and analysed in 1:12 Octave Bands (Optimus Green instruments only).
Calibrated audio playback
NoiseTools allows the level of audio playback to be calibrated using an Optimus sound level meter. This can be useful when there is a need to present evidence of noise nuisance or to demonstrate the actual noise levels that were recorded.
A simple step-by-step process adjusts the playback level and measures the level using the Optimus, storing the calibrated noise levels ready for the playback of any recorded audio files.
AuditStore data verification
The AuditStore data can be downloaded from the instrument when required and then the measurements can be checked against the AuditStore.
The NoiseTools software will check that the measurement information held in the main database and displayed on the screen matches the values within the AuditStore secure memory.
NoiseTools will display verification symbols if the information matches, a unique feature which will be useful in any legal proceedings.
Export measurement data
From any screen or view, the measurement data can be exported as either an image or as text/numerical data for use in other programs such as Excel.
Using a right-click option on the mouse, a range of export options are available.
For advanced analysis and reporting, the periodic calculator allows the time history data to be used to calculate a range of additional measurement parameters.
For example, the periodic calculator allows a set of 15 minute measurements to be calculated using data from 1 hour measurements. All full range of post processing functions are provided and these can be set to use any or all of the available time history information.
Organise your measurement data
To help you keep your noise measurement data organised and easy to find, NoiseTools allows each measurement to be tagged to people, places and projects.
Measurements can be sorted, collated and grouped to make it simple to find any measurement quickly and easily.
Select hearing protection
Where 1:1 Octave Band data is available, this information can be used by the program to calculate the level of protection from a range of hearing defenders and ear plugs.
