Noise nuisance complaints have been seen to be increasing across the board over the past two years. According to an article published by Direct Line Group in October 2022, the last financial year saw nearly 450,000 noise complaints to councils across the UK, which equates to 1,229 every day, or one every 70 seconds.
The real number of noise complaints may be even higher than these official figures, as research conducted by Opinium in June last year showed that only a third of Brits have acted in response to a noise dispute with their neighbour.
