Despite challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit, Cirrus Research plc, based in North Yorkshire, have successfully won a large international tender for sound level meters up to the value of $800k.
The tender saw Cirrus Research fight off stiff competition from large companies in Japan, the USA and the EU to supply high-quality Class 1 sound level meters for the Bihar State Pollution Control Board in India. Each device incorporates the new GPS module from Cirrus Research, which will help pinpoint the location of each measurement in Patna and other areas of the East Indian state of Bihar.
These instruments will be used by pollution control officers for a wide range of applications, including the measurement of vehicle noise to meet the increasingly strict noise laws, and training for the sound level meters will be offered as part of the package.
Managing Director of Cirrus Research, Daren Wallis said, “It was fantastic news to hear that, despite the ongoing global pandemic, and the uncertainty of Brexit, we were able to win such a big tender in India.
“The accuracy and reliability of Cirrus Research noise measurement equipment, plus our industry-leading 15-year warranty definitely played a part in this big win.
“Last year we celebrated 50 years of providing noise measurement equipment, to a variety of industries around the world, and this latest tender is a demonstration of the determination of the Cirrus team, and the high standard of our measurement equipment.”
To ensure this tender was delivered on time, Cirrus Research teamed up with Yorkshire manufacturers, Contract Production Ltd to use their automatic ‘pick-&-place’ machines. This enabled the team to meet the short time-scale and continue to support local business.
Cirrus Research noise measurement equipment is designed, wholly built and fully calibrated in North Yorkshire, and their calibration laboratories can calibrate complex equipment to full UK and international standards.
For over 50 years, Cirrus Research has been at the forefront of noise measurement instrumentation, and as a company are dedicated to providing innovative products, solutions, and services.
The simple-to-operate noise monitoring equipment, coupled with the industry-leading warranty and five-decades of experience, mean that the team at Cirrus Research can offer their products with knowledge, backup, support and confidence.
