CIEH has published the results of its flagship noise survey, which saw a large increase in noise-related complaints. This year’s report found that noise complaints increased by 54% between 2019/20 and 2020/21, as people adjusted to life during the first Covid-19 lockdown.

Noise pollution is the second largest environmental cause of health problems, according the World Health Organisation, with heart disease, diabetes and mental health conditions being caused by excessive noise levels. We think noise pollution awareness needs to be better.
