World Hearing Day 2021 – Hearing Care for All

World Hearing Day is one awareness day that is close to the hearts of all of us here at Cirrus Research. For over 50 years we have pioneered and innovated technology that has made monitoring and measuring noise easier and more accessible. We’re dedicated to helping protect those at risk of being affected by overexposure to noise.

This year’s campaign theme is ‘Hearing Care for All! Screen, Rehabilitate, Communicate’, and World Hearing Day 2021 will also mark the launch of the first-ever World Report on Hearing, which aims to drive policy actions for the integration of ear and hearing care into national health policies.

Ear and Hearing Care: WHO European Region

According to the World Health Organisation, 196 million people across Europe are currently living with hearing loss, and by 2050 it is projected that 236 million people will suffer from problems with their hearing that will affect them daily.

Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) is a major issue for all businesses in all industries throughout the UK, with Personal Injury Lawyers promising to fight for compensation under what they call industrial deafness.

The best way to protect yourself and your workforce from noise-induced hearing loss is to ensure that your working environment is safe and free from excessive levels of noise exposure. If this isn’t achievable, then it is important to ensure you’re using and supplying the correct levels of hearing protection.

It is the law to monitor noise levels in your workplace and ensure employees are adequately protected, but with so many variables to consider, this can be a challenge. The HSE have released a brief guide to controlling Noise at Work, which aims to make the whole process of monitoring noise easier and more accessible.
