MSN Circuit Rally Championship – The Final Round!

On Sunday the 15th of March, Ashleigh, Jamie and the AMR team headed down to Derbyshire to take on the final round of the MSN Circuit Rally Championship at Donington Park.

Some of the Cirrus Research team were there in the typical rainy British weather, supporting Ashleigh and Jamie, alongside our social competition winners, cheering from the side lines.

Ashleigh’s talent and the hard work of the pit crew meant that the team finished the first stage second in class, just one second off Class-B leader Chris Ruck. A small amount of time was lost throughout the morning due to poor seeding and a rather-spectacular spin, which Ashleigh was able to correct superbly, but luckily the team was still sitting second in class by lunchtime.

As the afternoon approached, conditions dried up, so the team were able to move on to intermediate tyres, and secure second in class, over a minute ahead of the car in third place, guaranteeing another top 20 finish overall.

Speaking about the season as a whole, Ashleigh said: “we’re delighted to have finished second in Class B this year! There’s been stiff competition from winner, Chris Ruck, as well as Mark Peterson and Paul Gorge. We’re also happy to have finished ninth in the championship – our highest finish to date!”

“We’ve worked hard as a team this year, having Howard from FJ-RS Engineering on board has really helped us with the setup of the car, and I’ve worked hard on driver training too, which has paid off in our results” she continued.

Team Cirrus Research and AMR have competed in eight rallies this season, managing to pull off class podiums in five rounds, including two class wins, one second place, and two third place results.

Everyone at Cirrus has thoroughly enjoyed watching the team’s progress throughout the season. Each round has been exhilarating and exciting, providing some great memories. We can’t wait to see what the next step of Ashleigh and Jamie’s journey will look like!
