MSN Circuit Rally Championship – Round-up 6
Storm Jorge wasn’t getting in the way of success for Ashleigh Morris this weekend as she came out top of her class at Anglesey!
The day started well with the team leading Class B after Stage 1 and sitting 2nd in class after Stage 3. During Stage 4 the gear stick snapped and Ashleigh was stuck in fourth gear, “it was a challenging end to the stage, but we made it back and got the gear stick welded, so we were ready for the afternoon” she said.
After the gear stick incident, Ashleigh and Jamie had dropped back to 4th in class and were aiming to make back some time.
The pair were caught out on Stage 7 as Ashleigh said, “we went out on medium tyres then it started to rain and hail. We lost a bit of time, but most people in the class were in the same position, and we still finished 4th.”
Ashleigh managed a flyer on the last stage and clawed back time on two-class competitors, then due to another competitor’s misfortune, she managed to take the class win.
Ashleigh is preparing to take on the final round of the MSN Circuit Rally Championship at Donington Park on Sunday the 15th of March where everything is still to play for.
