Following the announcement from the Prime Minister yesterday evening, everyone is digesting the news that our lives, at least for the time being, have changed beyond any semblance of normality. However extreme these measures may seem, we accept that they are completely necessary in order to stem the spread of the coronavirus, protecting families and loved ones, as well as our incredible healthcare professionals.
As a business, we have been asking ourselves what action we should take in order to keep our teams safe, but also ensure that for those of you whom homeworking is not an option, we continue to provide the equipment and services you need to comply with health and safety legislation and keep your own people safe from the dangers of excessive noise exposure.
We are still open for business
We have reviewed the Government’s advice regarding which businesses should close. As we do not fall into any of the categories listed, we have taken the decision to remain open.
Our main priority is the protection of our people, which is why from today, where practical, we have asked all our non-operational frontline staff to work from home. This includes sales and marketing, research and development, and accounts. As mentioned in my last update, we have been making preparations over the last few weeks to ensure that our teams have everything they need to ensure that the level of disruption caused to you is as minimal as possible.
Email inboxes are still open. Phones are still being answered. Live chat is still being monitored.
For those members of our team who cannot work from home, stricter hygiene and social distancing practices have been introduced to ensure that the risk posed to them is as minimal as possible. These teams include product despatch and instrument calibration/servicing.
Our service centre and calibration laboratory are still operational.
Additional steps are being taken to ensure that any equipment sent to and from our service centre is as clean and sterile as possible. This includes all operatives wearing gloves, and using a UV-C sterilisation lamp and isopropyl wipes when consignments are received, and before they are shipped out again.
This is an ever-changing situation. As such, we will be releasing daily updates on our blog and social media channels before 11am. You can view our blog by clicking here.
This is an uncertain time for everyone, so please feel free to contact a member of the Cirrus team should you have any questions or concerns about the impact these changes will have on your business.
Please look after yourselves and stay safe.
