An Important Update Regarding Coronavirus

Given recent international developments surrounding the outbreak of the coronavirus, Cirrus Research CEO, Daren Wallis, has made the following statement:

With the situation surrounding COVID-19 continuing to evolve, I wanted to take the time to reassure you that Cirrus Research is closely monitoring the situation and taking account of all the advice from both the UK Government and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

We are doing everything we possibly can to keep our own people safe, both in our UK office and overseas in Germany and France. This includes measures for our teams to be able to work from home, following the announcement from the Prime Minister yesterday. The preparatory work we have done in recent weeks means that the amount of disruption to you caused by home-working will be as minimal as possible: email inboxes will still be monitored and phones will still be answered.

In terms of our calibration and service function, we have introduced an internal screening and quarantine process for all inbound consignments, which aims to minimise the risks posed to our office-based teams. This may lead to a slight increase in turnaround times for instrument calibration. High-power UV-C sterilisation lamps are being used on items sent into our calibration laboratory, and our service team is using gloves and isopropyl wipes to ensure that all equipment is returned as sterile and clean as possible.

We are also assured by our manufacturing partner that there are no issues with component procurement, so we do not envisage any significant delays in our supply chain.

As an organisation, we have taken the decision to review national travel on a case-by-case basis. On the whole, all meetings that you may have booked with one of our representatives will be going ahead as planned, unless you advise us otherwise. As the situation is ever-changing, this decision may be reviewed and revised at a later date.

The most important things you can do to help protect yourself from COVID-19 and prevent the spread of the virus are:

• Washing your hands regularly for 20 seconds or more
• Coughing or sneezing into a tissue and disposing of it immediately
• Avoiding contact with your face
• Self-isolating if you have a new cough or a fever of more than 37.8°C

You can stay up-to-date with the latest UK Government advice here. There’s no denying that the next few weeks and months are going to be challenging. But we are confident that where we have the ability to influence and control things, there will be a minimal amount of disruption to our business. So, in terms of our relationship with you, we foresee it as being business as usual.

Please feel free to contact a member of the Cirrus team should you have any questions or concerns.
