MSN Circuit Rally Championship – Round-up 4

Sunday the 2nd of February might’ve been cold and wet, but it was a fantastic day out for some of the Cirrus team as they supported Ashleigh Morris and Jamie Mactavish from the side-lines at Cadwell Park.

The team had a slow start to the day, as Ashleigh said: “It was raining in the morning, so we started out on full wet tyres and set up. I was a bit over-cautious on the first two stages in the tricky conditions.”

Ashleigh had some time to make up after the first two stages. Fortunately, she was able to pick up the pace on stages 3-5 and climb up through the class standings, even setting the fastest time in class B on stage 5.

In the afternoon it had dried up slightly, so the team moved onto intermediate tyres.

Ashleigh said: “The stages were running in the opposite direction and we lost out slightly, but we’re really pleased with the result considering we were in such a competitive class.”

Ashleigh proved her consistency with another podium, coming 3rd in Class B. This was a marked improvement on last years’ Cadwell Park event, where Ashleigh had to retire during the later stages due to an accident.

We’re looking forward to seeing Ashleigh hit the circuit at Snetterton on Saturday the 15th of February, where the battle for Class B is sure to heat up.
