It's the philosophy behind the optimus. To make sure that you don't lose any information or forget to choose the right function, an optimus will automatically measure everything its capability at the same time.
Choose what's displayed, not what's measured
All you need to do is choose what function you are looking at on the screen. Choose the Leq View, Octave View or Dose View to see what's important to you, safe in the knowledge that everying else is still being measured.

Don't worry about choosing the right function
If you're working to the UK Control of Noise at Work Regulations you will need LAeq, Peak(C), LEP,d, maybe C-A
and maybe Octave Band data to selection PPE.
If you're working to the OSHA Regulations then you'll need to get the TWA and maybe Dose against the OSHA HC & PEL limits.
If you've got an optimus red, you'll get the information for all of these measured at the same time. If you've got data logging all of the functions will be stored ready for download.

How does this help you make effective measurements?
Even if you made all your measurements with the instrument showing the Sound Level with Slow Time Weighting, all of the other available functions are being measured.
You can simply switch between the Views to get the information you need or just leave the instrument alone, safe in the knowledge that it's still measuring everything else at the same time.
Your optimus instrument will even switch back on in the same place as when you turned it off, making it quick and simple to get started again.

With the CR:152B and CR:151B you can record a VoiceTag before each measurement and store notes, comments and information about the measurement for use in the NoiseTools software.
