Real-time 1:1 Octave Bands

1:1 Octave Bands are ideal for noise control applications and can be used to help select suitable PPE using the NoiseTools software.

The CR:172A and CR:171A instruments provide Real-Time 1:1 Octave Bands with:

  • 1:1 Octaves from 16Hz to 16kHz

1:1 Octave Bands

Each measurement contains the overall Leq for each band along with a time history, or noise profile, across the whole measurement.
Real-time 1:3 Octave Bands

1:3 Octave Bands provide much more detail about the noise source than 1:1 Octaves and can be used to help identify noise sources and determine if a noise has tonal content.

The CR:172B and CR:171B instruments provide both Real-Time 1:1 & 1:3 Octave Bands with:
  • 1:3 Octaves from 6.3Hz to 20kHz
  • 1:1 Octaves from 16Hz to 16kHz
  • LAeq (LF) & Leq (LF) - 20Hz to 200Hz


    Each measurement contains the overall Leq for each band along with a time history, or noise profile, across the whole measurement.
Do you need more detail?

Audio Recording during measurements

If the 1:1 or 1:3 Octave Bands don't provide enough detail then the Audio Recording is the ideal solution.

Audio recordings can be started and stopped either manually or automatically during measurements and will store the actual noise that is being measured.

You can download these recordings and listen to them to determine what was causing the noise or carry out further detailed analysis on the recorded data.

VoiceTag audio recording
You can record a VoiceTag before each measurement and store notes, comments and information about the measurement for use in the NoiseTools software.
