Environmental & Airport Noise Monitors

Environmental Noise Monitoring

Cirrus Research plc has a range of Permanent and Portable Noise Monitors, Sound Level Meters and Noise Measurements systems that can be used for the measurement and monitoring of environmental noise. Applications include:

The noise measurement equipment can be connected to a range of software and via a range of communications options. Weather measurement can also be incorporated into the noise measurements.

Airport Noise Monitoring

In most applications, the object of an Airport Noise Monitoring System is to monitor and ultimately, manage and control the noise levels generated by aircraft movements in and around the airport.

The final output of information from the Noise Monitoring System is the most important capability, and often determines the usefulness of the entire system. If the information gathered cannot be accessed and easily understood, even the most comprehensive system has little practical use.

The aim of Cirrus Research plc and their partners is to provide cost effective solutions to the requirement for the measurement and monitoring of noise in and around airports. The systems are designed to provide accurate, concise information to the operator without overwhelming the user with unnecessary complexity

Many smaller airports simply require the measurement of the overall noise climate, or the environmental impact of the airport, along with the noise levels produced by individual aircraft movements. This can be performed by a suitable number of Noise Monitoring Terminals and a suitable software program.

The program is chosen to suit the particular application, the number of noise monitors required, and the level of automation required. This program provides an interface to the Noise Monitoring Terminals, allowing the instruments to be configured, and the measured information to be download.

Once the information has been downloaded, reports are generated by the integrated database. These reports are designed to provide all of the information required by most users. Where this does not meet the exact requirements of the operator, the "standard" reports can be easily changed and modified as needed.
