		<description>This is a very important thing that has been highlighted here as the term &#039;windshield&#039; implies that it does not need to be used when measuring indoors.

Most work places are not very clean so allowing the microphone to become exposed to machine oil, vapours and general dust can damage the microphone. Windshields can be washed, microphones can not.

When taking measurements in relation to the Control of Noise at Work regulations, the position at which you should hold the microphone places a potentially dangerous &#039;metal stick&#039; next to someones eye, and it would be rather embarrassing for a Health &amp; Safety professional to poke an employees eye with their sound level meter!</description>
