We’re Hiring: Calibration and Service Laboratory Manager

Based at our headquarters in Yorkshire, the Service Department conducts a mix of annual calibration, repair, service and upgrade to customer instruments as well as testing and proving  new product designs, prototypes and first off batch production units. Due to expansion, we are seeking a full time Laboratory Manager.

Calibration and Service Laboratory ManagerReporting directly to the Engineering Director, your main duties would include the following:

  • Continue to develop service and test plans for products in compliance with relevant standards, such as IEC 61672 and ISO 17025.
  • Planning, organising and monitoring department throughput, with a target being to exceed our customer promise
  • Supervising and supporting the existing team of Test and Service Engineers.
  • Liaising with Product Development to provide technical feedback and resolutions.
  • Monitoring and reporting performance data.

As the perfect candidate, you must have the following experience and knowledge:

  • Calibration of metrological instrumentation, preferably acoustic and vibration.
  • Implementing procedures in accordance with the requirements of ISO 17025, including overseeing audits.
  • IT literate, especially with Microsoft Office and spreadsheet data manipulation.
  • Development and implementation of efficient systems and processes within a technical environment.
  • Ability to write reports and converse with customers and end-users.

It would be advantageous to have experience in component level electronic repair, specifically digital electronics.  An understanding of modern data communication systems would also be desirable.

It is planned that this role will develop further to incorporate other technical areas within the business.
