Updates to our ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 14001:2004 Certifications

Update: Our ISO 9001 Certification has been updated to the latest 2015 Edition. Click here for more information.

Cirrus is pleased to announce that both our ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 Certifications have been updated.

As a responsible manufacturer, Cirrus Research plc is committed to providing both quality product and service excellence, while ensuring minimal environmental impact of our businesses operations. We’ve implemented a Quality Management system that covers both our products and our environmental impact.

In addition to the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 Certifications, we also have to ensure that our quality management systems meet BS EN ISO/IEC 80079-34. This is required to allow us to manufacture a product that is certified as being Intrinsically Safe, the CR:110AIS version of the doseBadge Noise Dosimeter.

Copies of both our ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 Certificates can be downloaded from our information library.

What’s the difference between ISO 9001 and ISO 14001?

ISO 9001 is concerned with “quality management” whereas ISO 14001 is primarily concerned with “environmental management”.

Our ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management system covers what we do to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting our customer’s needs, meeting applicable regulatory requirements and continually improving our performance in this regard.

Our ISO 14001:2004 system covers our processes to minimize harmful effects on the environment caused by our activities and describes how we are continually improving our environmental performance.

BSI has issued new logos that can be used by companies that meet these quality standards. Where a company meets more than one standard, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, a combined logo can be used as shown above.

These new certification logos will start to appear on our documentation (product datasheets, user manuals, business cards and letterheads) over the coming months.

Not only is Cirrus Research plc certified to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 1400:2004, we are also certified as meeting the requirements to manufacture an intrinsically safe product.

Intrinsic Safety & Quality Assurance

As a manufacturer of an Intrinsically Safe product, the CR:110AIS doseBadge, Cirrus is also required to have its process and procedure verified to ensure that these products meet the relevant standards.

The CR:110AIS doseBadge meets a wide range of Intrinsic Safety Certifications including ATEX, IECEx, EEx, FM (C & US) and SIMTARS.

The products themselves are tested to ensure that they are intrinsically safe and then the quality systems are checked and verified. This stringent approval process ensures that all of the relevant standards, process and procedures are being followed in accordance with BS EN ISO/IEC 80079:2011 – Application of Quality Systems for equipment manufacture.

This approval process was carried out by SGS Baseefa and our systems and procedures were verified at being compliant with BS EN ISO/IEC 80079-34 on the 27th February 2014.
